Department of Economics


       Department of Economics (DE) was launched in October 2009 with MA programme in Economics under the School of Global Studies. The MA programme has an updated scheme capable of equipping students to analyze the theoretical and applied aspects of the emerging trends in economic theory and policy. Courses are designed to cater to the requirements of multi-national corporations, public services and other international institutions. The Department is equipped with an exclusive computer lab with advanced software packages like STATA, Eviews and SPSS which are highly useful for the students of economics. .Department of Economics is one of the pioneering departments in the Central University of Kerala under the School of Global Studies. The Department offers M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. Programmes in Economics. Other than teaching assignments, the Department is also involved in academic and research activities such as conducting workshops and seminars. It has launched a public lecture serie s on Kerala’s development challenges and an annual memorial lecture in the name of Dr.K.N.Raj
