Brief Profile
Elezebeth Mathews holds a Master and Doctoral degree in Public Health from Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Trivandrum, and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Christian Medical College, Vellore. She is a Wellcome DBT India Alliance Fellow, awarded a research grant to the tune of 15.6 million Indian Rupees for the study on diabetes prevention among individuals with isolated impaired fasting glucose, Kasaragod, Kerala. She is affiliated with Harvard T H Chan School of Public Health, Harvard University, USA as a Bernard Lown scholar in Cardiovascular Health.
She has presented her work in several international conferences abroad, and has received competitive fellowships such as Asian Collaboration for Excellence in Non Communicable Disease Research (ASCEND) funded by National Institutes of Health (USA), DAAD funded doctoral exchange fellowship, Germany, Public Health Leadership (PH-LEADER) fellowship by Emory University, USA.
Her research interests primarily include Diabetes Epidemiology, Implementation Science, Health systems, and Genetic Epidemiology of Diabetes amongst others. She has research publications in high impact international journals, and aims to undertake research that helps to understand and provide meaningful solutions to the existing and emerging health problems.
