Brief Profile
Dr. Pratheesh P. completed his MSc from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala and Ph.D. from the University of Kerala. His doctoral research focused on the understanding of the temporal relation between dyke emplacement and shear zone kinematics and its tectonic significance in the South Indian crustal evolution. Soon after his PhD, he joined the Central Laboratory for Instrumentation and Facilitation (CLIF), University of Kerala as a Technical Officer. Later he was awarded Varghese Kurian Young Scientist fellowship of Kerala State Council Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), with which he joined Centre for Geo-Information Science and Technology (CGIST), Trivandrum as a Research Scientist. He had visited many countries for research paper presentations and specialized training. He joined the Central University of Kerala in 2016 and his research focuses on applying structural, petrological, geochemical and remote sensing techniques to understand the origin and tectonic evolution of the continental crust with particular attention to the classical Southern Granulite Terrain.
