Brief Profile
Dr Jilly John is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work, School of Social Sciences at the Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod. Earlier she served as a programme officer in the Distance Education Programme of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan at Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi and as Assistant Professor at the Central University of Karnataka, De Paul Institute of Science and Technology, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kalamasserry, St. Joseph's College, Irinjalakuda. She obtained her Masters in Social Work from Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kalamassery and was awarded the PhD Degree in Social Work from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam in 2011. She was a parallel speaker in 9th International Conference in Health and Mental Health at York University, England in 2019. She was project director for Major Research Projects of University Grants Commission, Indian Council of Social Science Research, National institute of Social Defence etc. Her teaching and research areas include Social Group Work, Mental Health, Child Care, Family Health and Gender studies.
