Brief Profile
Dr. Ravi Kumar Kanaparthi received M.Sc. and Ph.D. from University of Hyderabad. Subsequently, he joined as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, India and worked for two years. Later he joined in the Department of Chemistry as Assistant Professor (September 2013). He received Medal from the University of Hyderabad, CSIR-UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF), and DST-Young Scientist award from DST, Govt. of India.
His research group mainly focused on new materials for efficient solar energy harvesting, sensing toxic metals and small molecules, fluorescent molecular nanomaterials and optoelectronic devices. At present, he is actively involved in developing new efficient sensitizers for dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on tetrapyrrolic (porphyrin, phthalocynine and corroles) systems and fluorescent organic molecules. Dr. Ravi Kumar is an expertise in the fabrication of DSSCs, organic and metal nanoparticles, optical & electron microscopy, studying the ultra-fast dynamics (electron and energy transfer reactions) by steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence techniques.
He has published over twenty-five national/international research articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented his research findings in various national and international conferences. He has successfully completed two projects supported by SERB, Govt. of India. Currently, two PhD students are perusing research work under his guidance. He has guided several Masters students for accomplishing dissertation work. He is the reviewer of leading scientific journals of various publishers which include American Chemical Society (ACS), Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), Elsevier and John-Wiley & Sons.
