Brief Profile
Dr. Thejaswini Venkatesh is currently employed as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Central University of Kerala (CUK), Kasargod, Kerala, India. Her (RNP Granulomics lab) lab at CUK works on the dynamics of P bodies, crosstalk of P body components with non-coding RNAs and implications of tRNA-derived fragments in breast cancer. She has finished her Master's degree from Mysore University and has completed her PhD from IISc (Indian Institute of Science), Bangalore. She has worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at inStem (Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine), Bangalore, and as an Assistant Professor at Nitte (deemed to be a University), Mangalore. She has received the prestigious Sakura fellowship from JST (Japanese Science and Technology, 2015), Young Scientist, and Young Women awards from Venus International Foundation. She has published more than 40 international publications and her lab is funded by DBT (1) and DST grants (3). She is an editor and reviewer in International Journals. She has nearly 35 peer-reviewed abstracts published in National and international symposiums and conferences. She has research collaborations with the National Institute of Technology, Calicut; KS Hegde Hospital, Mangalore; AJ Hospital Mangalore and the University of Tokhushima, Japan. She has guided 27 MSc students, 6 interns and has 5 PhD/JRF students.
