Brief Profile
Dr. Raja Naika H did his graduation in Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Botany, Post-graduation in Biotechnology from Kuvempu University, Shimoga. He obtained his research degree of Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Kuvempu University. He moved to the Indian Institute of Science (IISc.), Bangalore, for his Post-Doctoral Research before he joined as a faculty in the Central University of Kerala. He is also instrumental in designing the course work and curriculum of Environmental Science, Biotechnology, and Microbiology in Universities across India, being a member of the Board of Studies of a couple of Universities.
He specializes in Environmental Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Cancer Biology, Drug Designing, and Toxicology, and he runs multiple projects totaling a tune of approximately three crores in his lab funded by DST, VGST, and UGC. He has published over 156 research articles in peer-reviewed international journals and edited book chapters. He has presented his work at several National and International Conferences, many of which with an award. His lab collaborates with scientists at the Indian Institute of Science, Kuvempu University, and Akkamahadevi Womens University. Five students have completed their Ph.D. degree, others are on the verge of submission, and Presently two students are working on a Ph.D. degree, and a student is working as a Post-doctoral fellow. He has successfully guided more than 61 M.Sc. dissertations.
Recognizing his contributions to science, research, and teaching, he was awarded the Best Research Scientist and Best Research Paper by the Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society (KSTePS), Government of Karnataka.
