Indrashis has a strong background on Animal Sciences. He holds BSc (Hons) in Zoology from University of Calcutta with 65% marks and MSc in Zoology from Delhi University 70% marks. His specialization in MSc was Developmental Biology and Reproductive Endocrinology. He has done PhD from National Institute of Immunology (Affiliated to JNU, New Delhi) on Developmental Cell Signalling and post-doctoral research at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Medical Centre Ohio, USA on gonadal morphogenesis. He has vast experience in animal cell culture and gene expression using primate rodent and fish models. He has strong and High Impact publication track record in like PNAS, Human Reproduction, Endocrinology, Molecular Human Reproduction, Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology etc. He has completed NIH funded advanced training programme on Reproductive Biology from Marine Biological Laboratory Woods Hole, USA.   Prior to moving at Central University of Kerala, he was serving as an Assistant Professor of Zoology, at HNB Garhwal University, A Central University, Srinagar campus, Uttarakhand, India. He has completed two projects on fish gonadal development as an independent PI at HNB Garhwal University.
