Brief Profile
Dr. S. Lokeswara Bala Krishna studied B.Sc (B. Z. C) from Kakatiya University (Govt. Degree college Bhadrachalam) and completed M.Sc in Genetics from Osmania University. Later joined in the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, University of Hyderabad to pursue Ph.D under the guidance of Prof. Anand Kumar Kondapi. During Ph.D., he worked on the Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1 (HIV-1) Reverse Transcription mechanism and the role of host Topoisomerase II isoforms in the HIV-1 reverse transcription. Later he joined as Post-Doctoral Fellow in the same laboratory for two years and worked on molecular characterization of Topoisomerase II isoforms in HIV-1 infection. After that, he moved to Model Rural Health Research Unit (MRHRU) - Badoni, Datia, Madhya Pradesh (Under the administrative control of ICMR-National Institute of Research in Tribal Health-Jabalpur) as a Scientist-C and he worked on Hemoglobinopathies, Health and Nutritional status of Saharia tribes and Human papillomavirus infections in Madhya Pradesh . Later shifted to ICMR-NTF project as a Scientist-C and continued his work on Sickle cell Disease.
