Kavya P. Hegde is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce and International Business with nine years of teaching experience in higher education. She holds a Master’s degree in Commerce with a specialization in Financial Management from University College, Mangalore, and has qualified the UGC-NET in Commerce. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies at Mangalore University.
Her academic interests span Finance, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Corporate Taxation, GST, Human Resource Management, Organisation Behaviour, Advanced Cost Accounting and Control, Skill Development, Consumer Behavior, and Institutional Support Systems for traditional sectors.
Over the years, she has served as a Resource Person for numerous workshops, special lectures, and webinars, and has been actively involved in organizing national and international conferences, as well as commerce and management fests. She has presented research papers at various academic forums and has published scholarly work in reputed journals including Scopus-indexed and UGC Care-listed journals, conference proceedings, and edited book volumes. She is also an author and contributor to academic books in her field.
She has taken on significant Department responsibilities, including her role as the Department Placement Officer, where she spearheaded skill development programmes, professional training sessions, entrepreneurship development activities, budget analysis, and campus placement drives. Presently, she is acting as the Department Coordinator for IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) and NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework), contributing to quality enhancement and institutional benchmarking efforts.
A committed and evolving academic, she is deeply passionate about student development, sustainable entrepreneurship, and community-based innovation, and continues to contribute meaningfully to academia through teaching, research, writing, and outreach.
