Centre for Policy Sciences and Regional Planning
In consonance with the objective of the University to pay special attention to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people, the Department of International Relations and Political Science established the Centre for Policy Science and Regional Planning (CPSR). The Centre will be serving as a research unit that provides critical inputs to policy-makers and the Kerala State Planning Board to address the policy issues of Kerala, in general, and the backward northern districts, in particular. CPSR would help to strengthen the public policy through rigorous research and analysis of the impact of public policies on social issues such as poverty and social welfare, children and families, housing and neighborhoods, the workforce of Kerala, the environmental issues, etc., with a special focus on socially backward northern districts in Kerala. Furthermore, CPSR would engage in an active program of policy research, dissemination, and implementation and technical assistance to Government of Kerala and Government of India. CPSR would be a dedicated agency to analyze the public problems and the identification of potential solutions to them.
